thirty-four.

'Ello, lovelies! :) Hope everyone's having a lovely Tuesday. Get ready for a mondo-long post today 'cause I've got a bunch of tastiness to share!

Yesterday's Lunch:

hummus sammie with tomato, spinach, and sprouts
plusss ORGANIC SWEET POTATO FRIES
(in honor of Squill, fellow sweet potato lover ;D)

I used this recipe and, wow, I was so surprised! I expected them to be a little soggy and too peppery but, boy, was I wrong! They were so delicious that I had more for dinner (let's save that for later, okie dokie?)

Took a little stroll yesterday with the lovely blue sky. It's getting so warm and sunny that I can't stay inside. I found a second violet today:

I did a bit of SAT studying and discovered that there's no way in the world I'll use all these different words in my everyday life. I mean, come on- "chagul". I don't think I'll ever use it, unless I'm off in a foreign land and I desperately need a bag of goatskin.
"Excuse me, could I bother you for a chagul to carry my water in?"
Uh, no, don't think so. I think I'll just be dehydrated!

But I can't go hungry! So:
lil bit of dinner

more sweet potato fries and
a strawberry-feta-spinach salad.

plus, some honey chobani with pecan
granola, cinnamon, and honey.

+ the extra honey made this the absolute
best yogurt I have ever tasted!

Funny story for you guys. This morning at about five-thirty, while I was dead asleep, my dad couldn't find his keys. Instead of, you know, looking for them himself, he decide to drag me out of bed and send me on search for them. Not really a great idea, considering (A) no contacts/glasses on, (B) it's a taaad too early, and (C) they were in his BACK POCKET! :O
But when did we find out where they were?
An hour later.

Yes, thank you, Mr. Meanie World. Needless to say, I went back to sleep... until 11. :)

Snack:

OH MY GOSH.
best flavor everrr!

all of you, go to your nearest health food store and
buy one right now. it will make you so happy
that you'll forget you ran out in your bunny
slippers with your avocado face mask still on.

oh, and an izze. mmm, like drinking a fruit.
except with fizzy bubbles.

Lunch:

hummus sampler plate that I modeled after
a picture in a magazine I saw at Earth Fare:
cucumbers, peppers, sprouts, toasted bread
honeydew, kiwi and hummus.

Cracked open the books today to again discover words that I'll never use. Try panlogism! Does anyone see themselves in a conversation about the belief that the universe is acts of logos? Honestly, I didn't even know that there was such a thing before the Kaplan Review booklet told me so.

Such studying deserves equivalent foodage.
Dinner:

momma hippie's triple cheese mac'n'cheese. (x2 servings :o)
recipe from a 60's vegetarian cookbook.

if this isn't food porn, I honestly don't know what is!

Feeling really full right now. Not only did I have a giant dinner, I had a lot of snacks: yogurt, beet chips, a clif bar, etc.
I love being home! I eat so much better and I'm not tempted to do otherwise. I'm afraid to go back to school though. Sure, I have two weeks until then , but what's going to happen then? D: I want to keep doing well, but I don't know if I will. I keep thinking (relatively) positive so I think I'll be fine! :)

Time for nightie night. Have a great night/morning. ♥

thirty-three.

Hola, chicas! :) Hope you're all experiencing the same wonderful weather I am!
Seriously, it was HOT yesterday. After months of horrible cold snowy days, I'm in love with this Georgia weather. ♥
And another thing I absolutely love:

Breakfast:

vanilla yogurt + pecan granola and honey.
yum, yum. granola = love.

It may only be nine in the morning, but I've gained some insight into the complicated mind of meeee. When I'm at home, I have absolutely no desire at all to restrict. None. Zip. Zero.
I think you guys got the point, so continuing...
It's at school that I have a problem. When I'm by myself and no one makes me do the right thing (aka eat). At home, I eat pretty much whatever I want and then afterward worry about it, but that's all I do- worry. I don't force myself to stop eating or anything and it's like normal Emily eating away again. I still see myself negatively but I don't do anything about it, just worry. I don't know if that's a step in the right direction, but I think it is...

Positive thoughts floating around today, even though it is Monday. ;) I took another long walk in search of the last precious daffodils.

And a violet, the first I've seen!

Lunch/Snack:

~new favorite lunch alert~
sammie with homemade hummus, prosciutto,
spinach, brie cheese and radish sprouts.

snack:
homemade garlic and red pepper hummus
with spinach and more bread.

nutella, plus yogurt and milk.
(it's really thin and more like milk, than a 'shake.

I've been really lazy and I keep putting off studying for the SAT. I need motivation. Pooh.

Anyways, yesterday's dinner.

Dinner:

piccolini "bow ties" with parmesan and spinach.

Pasta. Pasta. Pasta. Big step!
I haven't had any at all since October. I swore that I'd never eat it again. :o
Silly me! Pasta is the definition of delicious. I can't believe I let myself not eat it.

Oh, and as promised, I've started baking again! :D

Baking Attempt Numero Uno:

ducky-shaped pecan scone-biscuits!
recipe here

I altered it a bit by halving the recipe and adding in more pecans. I also had to bake it for thirty-five minutes rather than only twenty. Overall, they were pretty tasty, but more like a biscuit than a scone (they didn't rise very much).
Best part? They were ducky-shaped! One was a moose and another a heart but mostly, duckies. :)

Have a great rest of the day, girlies. ♥

eighteen.

Hey guys! Hope you're all having a great Valentine's Day. Sorry about not posting yesterday, but I swear, today will make up for it! :D Here's some brekkie:

I was in a crazy fruit mood today! :) Does anyone else think that starfruit are absolutely the most adorable fruit ever? I wish I had a starfruit tree... if they grow on trees, that is!

Oh, and before I forget, I got bag-tagged by Morgan over at Dancing to Recovery! :D

Not sure if it counts, but it was the last 'bag' I carried (plus I love it to death! ♥) "It" is my Juicy Couture clutch, along side the newest Free People catalog! (I really want the romper on the left.) I bought it online at Rue La La for $30! Probably one of the highlights of my life.

I think everyone's pretty much been tagged for this, buuuut, if you're reading this and haven't, here goes:

The rules are as follows:
1) Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you cannot go up to your closet and pull out that cute little purse you used back before you had kids. I want to know what you carried today or the last time you left the house. No cheating!
2) I want to know how much it cost:) And this is not to judge. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I’d love to hear it.
3) Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you’re showing everyone your bag.

Today was very sunny and windy! But what was the absolute best part of today? The coffee house expedition my friends and I took. :D There's a coffee house twenty minutes (that is, walking) from our school and we dashed over, through this lovely neighborhood:

These people are so lucky to live close to the ocean... well, bay!

Very interesting lamp posts they have! :)

Once we got to the coffee house, we were met by huge group of people and a lovely group of musicians! They were pretty decent! It was really crowded, so we had to settle with two tables pushed together and a giant wall separating us from the band. There was a great selection of muchies to choose from:

And I didn't have to settle when it comes to this bad boy:

A Hummus+Veggie Wrap!! Delicious!

It kinda looks like a heart... if you squint and stand on your head. :)

We were really there to hear the poet laureate of Rhode Island read some of her poetry, but we didn't get to hear anything before we left. Instead we heard an odd bunch of poems... involving dreadlocks and footprints in the sand.

One of the poets reading- she was really great.
No dreadlocks in her readings.

I "Love" this cake.

It is February, sillies!

I've always wanted to try some of their gelato but never have. I always forget... they have some delicious flavors: pomegranate chocolate chip and even honey graham.

Eat a heart-shaped cinnamon twist, that's what! It was yummy. (:
We're cool, haha. (l-r: meee, buddy, buddy #2... maybe I should have better names?)

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend! :)
Enjoy what's left of your V-DAY! ♥
