thirty-eight.

Hola, chicas. :D Hope everyone’s having a wonderful day! Today’s weather was bright and sunny, so the padre and I went on a little trip. You can count on some pictures later on!

breakfast:

002

homemade yogurt with pecan granola, honey, and dates.
…wow, it was too good to be true.

003

I really love my morning yogurt. It’s one of the things I love most about being home- I can go to the grocery store, pick up any flavor on the shelf and spice it up with all sorts of delicious goodies. I’ve come to love my morning routine- wake up, stumble into the kitchen, fumble for the daily yogurt and spoon it into a bowl.

Since school starts back on Wednesday, I’m starting to panic. I’ve just gotten into a nice pattern that isn’t destructive. I may eat the same basic thing, but I change up some of the components so it’s different, but the same. (Okay, I’m crazy, I’ll admit that.) Once I get back, how am I going to keep it the same? I hardly ever eat breakfast when I’m there so ahhh!

Getting to the point here- does anyone know of a online supplier that sends yogurt in the mail? Specifically, I’m looking for Chobani shippers. If anyone has any ideas, please send them my way! I'd so appreciate it. ♥

lunch:

001

roasted asparagus, chopped up bok choy and toasted nori

healthy dessert? broiled pineapple x3.
made with only a sprinkle of sugar and a tiny pat of butter.

004

I ate half of the pineapple this way and it was so delicious. I’d never used the broiler before so I got scared half to death! The pan I used got warped too. (And it was my sweet potato fry pan to top it off!) Call me a chicken, but I don’t think I’ll try this again, even though it was the most delicious way I know to eat las pinas!

Algunas flores para todos ustedes:007

the first azaleas!
I was sad that I might not get to see any before I traveled
back to school, but I got lucky. :)

008

Now, for the mysterious trip! As mentioned above, it was really nice outside which, in my family, calls for a (mini) road trip! Papa and I drove down to the breathtaking shoals. These pictures really don’t do them justice. Seriously, if any of you happen to be lost in the back roads of Georgia sometime in the future, hope that you run across this.

011

it kinda made me want to go swimming!
…even though I don’t like swimming.

013

And the madre welcomed us home with some homemade spaghetti sauce and piccolini farfalle. Mmm, so delicious. I wish my mom would share the top secret recipe.

025

I had another serving after this. The sauce was so yummy that I would eat it as a soup.

Did anyone catch Jay Leno last night with Reese Witherspoon? If you didn’t, YouTube it! I’m such a fan of hers. How many other confident, sophisticated, and talented women are there in Hollywood? She made me cry from laughter- it was that funny.

Alrightie, I’m turning in. Hope everyone has a nice night. :)

thirty-three.

Hola, chicas! :) Hope you're all experiencing the same wonderful weather I am!
Seriously, it was HOT yesterday. After months of horrible cold snowy days, I'm in love with this Georgia weather. ♥
And another thing I absolutely love:

Breakfast:

vanilla yogurt + pecan granola and honey.
yum, yum. granola = love.

It may only be nine in the morning, but I've gained some insight into the complicated mind of meeee. When I'm at home, I have absolutely no desire at all to restrict. None. Zip. Zero.
I think you guys got the point, so continuing...
It's at school that I have a problem. When I'm by myself and no one makes me do the right thing (aka eat). At home, I eat pretty much whatever I want and then afterward worry about it, but that's all I do- worry. I don't force myself to stop eating or anything and it's like normal Emily eating away again. I still see myself negatively but I don't do anything about it, just worry. I don't know if that's a step in the right direction, but I think it is...

Positive thoughts floating around today, even though it is Monday. ;) I took another long walk in search of the last precious daffodils.

And a violet, the first I've seen!

Lunch/Snack:

~new favorite lunch alert~
sammie with homemade hummus, prosciutto,
spinach, brie cheese and radish sprouts.

snack:
homemade garlic and red pepper hummus
with spinach and more bread.

nutella, plus yogurt and milk.
(it's really thin and more like milk, than a 'shake.

I've been really lazy and I keep putting off studying for the SAT. I need motivation. Pooh.

Anyways, yesterday's dinner.

Dinner:

piccolini "bow ties" with parmesan and spinach.

Pasta. Pasta. Pasta. Big step!
I haven't had any at all since October. I swore that I'd never eat it again. :o
Silly me! Pasta is the definition of delicious. I can't believe I let myself not eat it.

Oh, and as promised, I've started baking again! :D

Baking Attempt Numero Uno:

ducky-shaped pecan scone-biscuits!
recipe here

I altered it a bit by halving the recipe and adding in more pecans. I also had to bake it for thirty-five minutes rather than only twenty. Overall, they were pretty tasty, but more like a biscuit than a scone (they didn't rise very much).
Best part? They were ducky-shaped! One was a moose and another a heart but mostly, duckies. :)

Have a great rest of the day, girlies. ♥

seventeen.

Its Thursday- almost the weekend, if you don't count classes tomorrow and Saturday. But really, that isn't the point. Hope everyone's having a great day. :)

Breakfast: two Kashi waffles, strawberries and a starfruit! Yum!

There's my thumbnail.

Today was a bit of a lazy day, considering school work and all. I had a few quizzes and I have a few tomorrow, but I'm okay with that because of my fabulous lunch today: bowtie pasta with spinach, tomatoes, and feta cheese. Also, following my trend of the week: a medley of squash and zucchini to top it off. :)

Oh, and did I mention the red velvet cupcakes? :O Yes, the dining hall is being oh-so-kind and making Valentine-themed goodies.

Yes, there are more of these little lovelies!

The heart-shaped sprinkles were absolutely adorable. I was tempted to steal a whole tray of them, but maybe that'd be a little obvious, no?

And what else could make today great?

A PACKAGE! :)

It's my Valentine's package from home, filled with candies, luna bars, and a grapefruit. (My mommy also included my Spanish research from last year to help with this year's project, tehe.)

A Reese's Peanut Butter Heart...
and Lindt Liquor truffles. (The golden one is the best!)
I have to admit that I've eaten at least six! :)

Overall, today's been a great day... I hope dinner will follow suit! I'm going to a buddy's poetry recictaton so dinner will have to be super quick. (no pics, probably!)

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the day!
